About

Dragons, it's time to learn about management and production in gamedev! We will see you on 9 December 2023 in Warsaw.

Management and production isn't just about keeping an eye on deadlines, budgets and the project vision for a game. It's also about communication skills and (perhaps most importantly) solving internal problems.

These skills are the foundation of any large-scale game project. Without them, chaos ensues and conflicts arise.

The figure of the producer is associated with long-term employees of the industry, who have eaten their bread from many a gamedev oven. However, it is worth pointing out that a career in the industry can already start in this position. So if you want to become a master planner, a good producer who is responsible for the overall vision of a game, you can't miss this meeting, where you will learn, among other things, about the best practices and experiences of mentors from years of working in gamedev.

Creating Effective Team Synergy. A producer's guide to the gamedev galaxy

  • #Production
  • #Managment

Effective collaboration between teams with different specialisations is just as important a skill as the ability to write code, prepare documentation or create animations. Unfortunately – this skill is often overlooked and not included in team development plans.

‘Creating Effective Team Synergy. A Producer’s Guide to the Gamedev Galaxy’ is an interactive journey where you will discover ways to effectively manage projects in the games industry. In it, you will see how a strategic producer approach can shape dynamic and effective collaboration in development teams. Simple examples will make you realise how basic techniques based on enhancing team synergy can speed up development several times, improve team morale and motivation, and the quality of mechanics.

Learn a set of practices personally tested by Stanislav and use this compass in your own journey through the galaxy of gamedev. These are small steps for the producer, but big leaps for the whole team!

S.M.A.R.T. - a model for working with external partners in the games industry. Good practices and deadly traps

  • #Production
  • #Managment

In game development, it is extremely important to be able to plan and coordinate tasks, including with external partners. Right at the start of development, it is worth thinking about what you want to achieve. Otherwise, various pitfalls await you, which will not only lengthen the time and increase production costs, but may ultimately even lead to a failed game launch.
This is why it is worth learning about the S.M.A.R.T. model, which will allow you to better define your goals. This method is a valued tool for defining your priorities and is defined by five determinants of effective performance. If you want to get to know them in order to better manage your future project – this upcoming Academy is the perfect opportunity to do so!
